The Hondo Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking an enthusiastic, task-oriented team member to perform office functions in a fast-paced working environment.  Candidates should possess a friendly demeanor, willingness to learn, and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook.  Candidates should bring creative vision to the organization, have the ability to multi task, learn new software, have a love for our community and display strong public relations.  Event planning and some marketing experience preferred. This position will be part time, up to 30 hours per week.

This is a professional position requiring a high level of skill and competency and the ability to work with limited supervision and to make duty-related decisions. Candidates must be detail oriented and capable of meeting simultaneous and frequent deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative and an aptitude for working with and relating to a wide variety of personalities are of utmost importance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administrative support
  • Event planning and coordination
  • Member Services
  • Reception and clerical duties

*Some weekends and overtime required*
